Tessa Oraro-Lawrence, PhD



About the Founder

Before founding ZEBU Consulting in September 2024, Tessa served as Director of Advocacy at the Community Health Impact Coalition, where she lead efforts to strenghten health systems and improve healthcare delivery. She also held roles at the International AIDS Society as Project Manager and at the as a researcher, contributing to impactful global health projects in Kenya, Cameroon, and beyond.

Earlier in her career, Tessa worked with the as a Health Policy Specialist across multiple African countries, including Uganda, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria. She has managed and assessed health financing strategies, pharmaceutical regulations, and demand-side health financing options for underserved populations.

Tessa’s deep technical expertise, coupled with her ability to build strategic relationships with key stakeholders, has allowed her to shape global health policies and drive meaningful, sustainable change. Tessa graduated with PhD in Epidemiology and Health Economics from the University of Basel and a MSc in International Health Management from Imperial College London. Her research has focused on health financing, universal health coverage, and policy influence, ensuring her contributions are both practical and policy-driven.
